About Shutter Relief

  • Shutter Relief

Shutter Relief is an ongoing series of projects promoting community awareness of social issues and the healing and connecting power of the arts. Conceived and started by Dona Laurita, and incorporating "The Silhouette Project", a photographic and textural storytelling vehicle giving a voice and identity to local immigrants, refugees and, now, "Dreamers" with the current threat to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), Shutter Relief has and will continue to feature and interact with other artists and projects seeking to illuminate possibilities for social justice and positive change.
